RE: Background Checks
The purpose of this letter is to inform parents of an upcoming change regarding background checks. If a parent wants to attend a field trip we were able to utilize the Indiana State Police and complete this check free of charge. As of March 1, 2024 they are now requiring a fee to complete the limited criminal history background check.
Tri-Central Community Schools currently uses a program called “Safe Visitor” for all other background checks. As a result, we will also utilize this same system for any parent or guardian wishing to participate in a field trip or visit a classroom during the school day. Parents and guardians will need to visit the school website at www.tccs.k12.in.us and complete the background check. Parents will have to pay for the background check and it will be valid for a period of 5 years. Mrs. Day at the elementary school will monitor TCE background checks and will be available to answer any questions that you may have.
If you have specific questions or concerns please contact Kim Day at kday@tccs.k12.in.us
