TCCS students and staff will be practicing a lockout drill today. Tomorrow we will be practicing a lockdown/armed intruder drill. During these drills, no one is allowed in or out of the building.

Students at TCCS will be practicing various safety drills this week. We utilize the Standard Response Protocol and today we worked on a "hold" as we had a wild animal loose in the building. Students and staff sheltered in place until given the "all clear."

At the start of the day today students practiced how to evacuate a school bus safely. They also learned about the dangers around them, how to stay calm, and respond according to the situation. The experience and information learned can save lives in an accident or emergency.
Did You Know?
There are two types of school bus evacuation: immediate and orderly . An immediate evacuation is used when there is a danger inside the bus, such as a fire or chemical spill. In this case, students and staff should exit the bus as quickly as possible. An orderly evacuation is used when there is a danger outside the bus, such as a severe weather event or an active shooter situation. In this case, students and staff should remain on the bus until it is safe to exit. Drills help students and staff understand the difference and be prepared on how to evacuate based on the difference.
Next week students will continue practicing various drills at school. If you have any questions about school safety please let us know.
